Hello from Fairfield
So, Christmas approaches, and the view from my writing cave window already looks like a winter wonderland. The boiler is on full pelt to hold the chilly air at bay, and the fuel bills are rising – Christ!
In a few weeks, two years will have drifted by since I started writing Jason Apsleys Second Chance, and now, 650,000 words later, I’m only a few weeks away from publishing my sixth book – what a journey.
Late January will hopefully see the publication of Death Become Them, the second book in the Deana – Demon or Diva series. Also, I will release book 2 of the Jason Series on Audible. Lee Beddow, my brilliant narrator, is just finishing recording Ahead of his Time and, in the new year, will plough on through the rest of my books, starting with Force of Time. Although producing for Audible is super expensive, I know many listeners have enjoyed the first book, so I aim to have all my books available on Audible and iTunes this coming year.
So, what next … well, the plan for the spring is to launch the third book in the Deana – Demon or Diva series, which I have just started writing. Then, during the summer months, whilst nursing a few cold beers and due to popular demand (thank you), I plan to write another Jason book. I have some loose ideas about the story and, in particular, what hell I can put the poor man through! Then, come autumn, I hope to start on a new time travel adventure (writing, not travelling, because, as of yet, I still haven’t built a time machine). As for the story, well, I haven’t formulated that yet, but I guess I will set it in the 1970s, of course!
Another project I would like to get into is writing a sequel to Eye of Time … for some odd reason, formulating that story seems to have eluded me. However, I think Frank needs another adventure … we’ll see.
So, the Christmas decorations got unceremoniously hauled out of the loft this week. We’ve gone for two trees this year. The one on the left (pictured below) the current Mrs Cousins decorated, and the one on the right was put together by yours truly … personally, I think mine is significantly better … suffice to say, Mrs C does not agree … hmmm.
So, leaving the tree debate to one side, I would just like to say a massive thank you for helping It’s Payback Time become my most successful launch to date, and the feedback has been fantastic. That dastardly woman, Deana, seems to have struck a chord!
Right, that’s about it for now. All that remains for me is to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. And, of course, it goes without saying, a huge thank you to you all … without the support of you lovely people, I wouldn’t be writing this update. Stepping into a writing career has been a privilege, and I’m forever grateful to those who have read and enjoyed my books.
Best Wishes
Adrian
